Do we have to show start or exacerbation dates on diagnoses? If we do show them whether required or not, what support do we need to show them as exacerbated?

So lets say you recerted and your in the new cert and its not time for the cath change and your patient goes to the hospital. What now? You don’t have a qualifying visit before the transfer do you discharge???

Lisa,
I am going to ask your readers what there thoughts are on the telehealth monitoring. If any have worked with telehealth and do they see a difference in the outcomes. i have read a few articles that state that telehealth does not make a difference in the patients overall homecare outcomes and a few that says they do.

I have used telehealth with a few of the companies that i have worked with. With a few people it has worked well for, the many of the people found it a hassle, there was issues with the units and the patients didn’t always answer the questions truthfully.

But i am curious to hear from others what there experiences are with the telehealth. There are all these articles about the good and bad of using the telehealth, but i wanted to hear from the people who actually use them in there day to day work.

LISA I HAVE A QUESTION IF A PATIENT FALLS AND GETS AN EXTREMELY LARGE CONTUSION TO FORHEAD CAUSING BILATERAL BLACK EYES TO PT BUT PTS SKIN DOES NOT OPEN CAN WE CONSIDER THIS A TRUAMATIC WOUND????

Are there any plans for a more specific diagnosis code to address the spread of zombie-ism? ICD-9 has E968.7 for assault by human bite and ICD-10 offers Y04.1 for bite by human being with intent to injure or kill, but these don’t seem to fully describe the patient’s condition. Should we also list a parasitic disease code?

I heard through the home care grapevine that NAHC released more Q&A’s within the last day or two, with updated information regarding whether or not hospital discharge planners can complete face to face documentation. Do you have any information?
